Steve Terry, General Manager & Logistics
After graduation from Appalachian State University in 1978, Steve joined the family business, Terry’s Upholstery, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The business had been established in 1959 by Steve’s parents, Mason and Virginia Terry and, of course, Steve grew up “at the shop.” In 1983, Steve took over Terry’s Upholstery and under his leadership, the business evolved into a regional upholstery company with clients throughout the southeast. Steve's extensive knowledge of high-end, luxury upholstery fabrics for use in both residential and contract settings spans three decades. In addition, his vast custom furniture experience gives him a unique perspective on furniture and textiles, allowing him to see fabric and seating both as art and as function.
Diane Terry, Principal & CEO
Diane’s life “before furniture” was one of research, writing and teaching. After earning the MA in History from Appalachian State University in 1983, she taught World, American and Local History for 25 years--half of her career at Appalachian and half at Caldwell Community College. In 2007, she and husband, Steve, established Silverstone Enterprises, Inc. Under her direction, Silverstone was transformed from a small home-based business to a company that grew by 30% per year for the last eight years. In fact, the business has allowed her to retire from teaching and join her husband full-time in fabric and furniture. The company has shipped fabric and leather to every state in the union as well as to over twenty countries, and has done projects for movies, TV shows, major universities and corporate leaders. Diane’s graphics, research, writing and organizational skills, as well as her broad knowledge of history, art, industry and culture make her an integral member of the Camera-Ready Furniture Services team.
